Always half full

This week we had a game at Baldwin Wallace. It is located in the Cleveland area and is roughly a two hour trip from Ada. After a heartbreaking loss we loaded the buses and set course back home. We never could have anticipated what was going to happen next. An accident had occurred on I-71 South roughly 15 minutes from BW. This ended up turning our two hour trip home into four and a half. To make matters worse the spot where we got stuck had no cell phone reception. So there we sat, two buses full of tired players and coaches for over two hours with no reception.

Moments like this always make you appreciate the small things in life. For starters, someone could have died in that wreck. We should be grateful we weren't involved. Us getting back to school later is irrelevant to what happened in that serious wreck. Also, it was great to talk and connect with some teammates. It was awesome to have some serious talks and share laughs with the guys after a tough day.

I've thought about the events of our trip home this weekend, a lot. I think it goes to show that your life is not as bad as it seems. Maybe it did suck that we had to sit in traffic for over two hours. I have a feeling the people involved in the wreck would rather be stuck in traffic then in the wreck themselves. This really showed me life is about perspective.

  1. Whenever I find myself complaining about being stuck in traffic due to an accident I always try to remind myself that someone could be fighting for there life and that Im sitting here safely in my car. Putting things in perspective could solve a lot of problems in our world today.
