f is for friends
I have learned throughout this year that things happen in life that you just can't control. This year I tried to accept these things and keep moving on with my life. It has been challenging but I am thankful for my best friends.
Coming to ONU I was nervous and did not know what to expect. I was very unsure about college, football and life in general. Since coming here, I have found my extended family. These are the people that I will have friendships with for life. I could not be more thankful for God to put these people in my life.
Also, I am extremely thankful for COVID-19. I know that may sound crazy. It had its negative effects on my life, but it was also a good thing. It has allowed me to meet countless number of people that I would not have met if they were not granted another year of athletic eligibility. These people have endlessly impacted my life.
The point of this blog is to express that perspective is huge in life. Sometimes stepping back and looking at a situation you perceive is bad at a different angle can be beneficial. That is what I have learned over the last year. You can overcome anything in life. The people beside you when you are overcoming these challenges are the ones that matter. Not the people on the outside looking in.
I have experienced this many times when looking back on what I thought was a terrible event in my life actually turned out helping me a lot. Perspective is important but i think reflection is just as important.
